Component / BOT For Joomla 1.015 and Joomla 1.5

Basic Component Requirements:

Component - Allow Keywords / Keyword Phrases to be related to content items including Static Content (i.e. definitions)

Must check for duplicate Keywords as unique keyword can only be associated with 1 content item However up to 4 unique keywords should be allowed to be associated to each content item.

Component should allow definitions to be cached so BOTs do not have to “hit” remote parent component on every page load.


Basic BOT Requirements:

BOT - Installed on either local or remote joomla site (seperate from component install)

BOT will read through content items if keyword from component is identified then a link to the related content is inserted using the identified keyword as the anchor text. Link must support OPENSEF or SH404SEF URLS

BOT must be SEO friendly meaning that Javascript cannot be used to insert link.

BOT should be configurable to allow choice of content category / section / static content types for execution. (i.e. if user wants bot only to read content in a specific category or categories)

BOT should be configurable to allow link target to be selected (i.e. parent / new window etc.)

BOT should be configurable to allow link color choice.

BOT should be configurable to allow number of times a specific keyword is linked per article (i.e. only once to unlimited)

BOT should be user configurable to point to component installation of choice for keyword / content associations (i.e. local site or remote component site)

BOT should be able to retrieve definitions and cache them so that it doesn’t need to “hit” a remote parent component each time content is read. Cache time should be configurable.


Component and BOT are intended to be offered in a free and paid version;

Free version of the BOT should insert link at bottom of each content item it reads to our registration site. Link to be determined. Registered version should require unlock code for each BOT installation.
