We are looking for a backup solution that regularly and automatically creates a backup of our site (files and database) and sends it to another server in such a way that the backup can be deployed immediately in the case that our main server goes down. The site contains many image files so is quite large and the database is also large, so the system must take that into account in terms of processing time, i.e., site files backed up once every 24 hours but database backed up every 4 hours (for example).

The site is bilingual Japanese, Joomla 1.5.8 and the database is UTF8 encoding. Please be sure your solution can handle double-byte characters in the database!

Backed up files on the target server side must be either automatically unpacked and installed so site owners can instantly jump over and take the backup site live. If that is NOT possible, there must be an easy and user friendly way to restore the latest backup files so that no technical expertise is required to take the backup live.

We have tried to use JoomlaCloner/XCloner but were not able to make it work. You are welcome to try or use some other existing software or create custom solution.

Please note that we are using shared hosting servers and SSH is NOT available. CRON jobs CAN be set in our hosting cpanel.

You MUST demonstrate that your solution works by performing a full backup of our site and a full restore of that backup. It should go without saying but the last freelancer we used on this project refused to do this, claiming that it was beyond the scope of the job!? If you are not prepared to show that your solution works as promised DO NOT BID on this project.
