Convert the website www.kamvic.com into Joomla 1.5.
Templates:
Using CSS, create a tableless template. In that case, we might provide a new template purchased from templatemonster.com. Flash will be minimized. Format will be similar to the existing. We will provide necessary art works in Photoshop or illustrator format.
The following components need to be installed and configured:
1. VirtueMart - Currently, we do not accept online payment. Copy of existing database will be provided. The current database’s structure is similar to that of VirtueMart. It should simple to transfer data over. The shopping cart will replace the order form. IMPORTANT: The price tags for each item differ from customer to customer. I believe there is a way to do it in VirtueMart. Also, only logged in users are allowed to see price.
2. Joom!Fish - Webpage will support English, French and Chinese. Content of other languages are not part of this project. Just need to be configured.
3. sh404SEF - Website need to be search engine friendly with keywords and description on all pages. URLs must also be SEF. Also use sh404SEF to permanently redirect all existing URLs to new URLs.
4. FacileForms - A contact us form must be created with spam protection
5. swMenuMaker - This is the preferred menu system to use. Can purchase swMenuPro at our expense.
6. Google Analytics Tracking Module - Each page needs to be tractable by Google’s analytics.
7. lightThumb or equivalent - Making each product picture popup on click and enlargeable using light box. (Not sure if it’s possible with VirtueMart)
8. AkoComment_Tweaked_Special_Edition - Allow viewers to leave comments/rating on the description of products. Which will let us know if improvement of content is needed.
9. PollXT - Need to add a poll section on the left side of page to gather improvement related comments.
10. XMAP - A Google friendly sitemap component.
11. Ircmaxell’s Page Cache
12. JCE WYSIWYG editor
13. Some Search Engine Component
Documentation:
All plug-ins installed must be documented with version number. Changes to the PHP code need to be minimized for the ease of future update. Any changes need to be documented in detail.
Hosting:
We will be using Godaddy’s Economy Hosting Plan - Linux. The hosing account will be available when project starts. However, domain will not point to it until done. We can use Win Hosts to temporary point to the server for testing purpose.
Security:
Must minimally follow the Joomla Administrator’s CheckList
http://help.joomla.org/component/option,com_easyfaq/task,view/id,167/Itemid,268/
Database:
GoDaddy’s MySQL database cannot be accessed externally. The work around is to use Navicat MySQL to access the database through an http-tunnel PHP script placed on the server. Test server’s database can then be uploaded through the tunnel.
Quotation:
Please separately include the price for future component/core update cost.
